The Young SIETAR annual congress is the pinnacle of the year for our Society. It is the one of the most important moments in the year where our virtual organization really comes to life. Our annual congress is a chance for established persons to retain commitments and development contacts, for people that have worked an entire year on various virtual projects to finally meet in real life. It's a moment where cultures from all around the world connect, where ideas are discussed and new initiatives and projects are born. It's also our best opportunity to make our Society and our values known to the entire world, and promote the intercultural field.
Young SIETAR has brought together participants from around the world since 1997 to its annual international congresses to establish networks and exchange intercultural knowledge, experiences, skills and insights. A diverse group of speakers and facilitators touched and inspired students from around the globe. Up to now, nine highly successful congresses were held in the following locations: Amsterdam/The Netherlands ('97), Brussels/Belgium ('99), Wroclaw/Poland ('00), Timisoara/Romania ('02), Bratislava&Liptov/Slovakia ('03), Berlin&Usedom/Germany ('04), Zadar/Croatia ('05), Valencia/Spain ('06), Ravensbrück/Germany ('07), Granada/Spain ('08, SIETAR Global Congress), Cairo/Egypt ('09), Istanbul ('10), Slovenia ('11). The congress 2012 will take place in Belfast.
