In the past, the YS research workshops that took place were a great success. After a one-year break, we are proud to be able to offer you another YS research workshop - this year on March 7-9th, 2008.
This year?s YS research workshop is being hosted and co-sponsored by Jacobs University Bremen, in Bremen, Germany. We are a private, international institution with over 91 different nations represented in the student body. For more information about us, please visit: http://www.jacobs-university.de/
Just like the past YS research workshops, this one too will center on the idea of coming together for a weekend in order to improve our research skills. However, this year we are trying something a little different and will have a general theme of ?Multiculturalism in Higher Education.? There will also be four sub-themes focusing on:
- ?Intercultural Competence?
- ?Learning Styles?
- ?Intercultural Trainings?
- ?How Higher Educational Systems deal with Multiculturalism.?
Important: If submissions and time allow, then there may be a miscellaneous category, so please don?t let the themes scare you away from taking part in what will be a wonderful event. I hope that this will be just the beginning of an excellent collaboration between Jacobs University and Young SIETAR.
The workshop will take place on March 7-9, 2008 at Jacobs University Bremen and is again addressed to all YS members interested in research: students, academics, practitioners?everyone is welcome to join in and actively take part in this event. Each person will be given a chance to present their work, which can range anywhere from prospective research ideas to finished data sets or publications. Importantly, we would like you to specify two or three major questions or concerns that you would like the group to address. Following the discussion, each presenter will be asked to lead a short exercise or icebreaker of their choice as a thank you to the group and to keep our minds fresh.
If you would like to participate but do not want to give a presentation, please make a note of this when you register. If space is an issue, then those who present will be given priority.
