Programme

Cultural idea ballons during TOIT 1!

The programme reflects the aims of TOIT2 in providing the participants with the necessary theoretical knowledge about intercultural communication and the interactive environment to design their own projects. Therefore, every day is divided in different sections to create a balanced learning and working atmosphere.

The workshops starts with an informal get-together on Sunday evening in order to get to know each other in a relaxed environment which facilitates working together in the next days. The programme for the first full day will consist of an introduction to the programme, presentations of the project ideas and forming of the project teams.

Every day starts with an overview of the day's schedule and possible updates regarding the program. Participants will have the possibility to arrange a short exercise which helps them to practice their skills and motivate the whole group. In the morning and early afternoon sessions, participants will learn from experienced trainers about "Intercultural Theories", "Intercultural Methods and Methodologies", "Training Design and Needs Assessment", "Negotiation Skills", "Training Ethics", "Project Management", "Standing in front of an Intercultural Audience" and "Working in a Virtual Environment". All these skills will help the participants to design and establish their own projects. The participants can immediately apply their newly acquired knowledge in the so-called Project Labs. The group will split into the project teams and work on their project ideas. They will be supported by mentors who provide feedback, help and encouragement. In the evenings, participants will have time to give feedback to each other or the organization team and to reflect on their own progress. After a long day of work, the social programme helps to relax, built stronger relationships and .... to have fun.

In addition, to the theoretical input and the practical application, we will also visit an intercultural project in Jena which will help the participants to learn more about challenges but also incentives related to work in the intercultural field.

Closer to the event we will provide more information on the day to day lay-out of the program and the content of the different sessions.
